Issue 14 - May 2010 - The Second Anniversary Issue

From the Editor:
It's hard to believe that Issue 14 marks the second anniversary of Fraction Magazine. With this issue, Fraction Magazine has showcased 77 photographers, not including the group shows. Yes, this takes a fair amount of work but for me, it is a true labor of love. Every month it's exciting for me to show new and innovative work from both well-established artists as well as artists who are less widely known. I've been able to work with just about everyone that I would want to. What I am most proud of is being able to approach photographers and have them say that they know of Fraction Magazine and would love to be a part of it.

I think Fraction has been good for a few featured photographers too. Like the photographer who got to show work on the New York Times Lens blog after they saw his photographs on Fraction. Or a recently featured photographer who was offered a book by a book publisher after they saw her work on Fraction. How cool is that?

Sure, creating Fraction Magazine every month has led to more than a few things for me personally, but the best thing of all is that I get to work with artists whose work I truly admire.

As I am sure you can tell, I take what I do with Fraction Magazine very seriously. I am selective in the work that I show and who I align myself with. The future is looking really good right now because of this. I am very proud of Fraction Magazine.

But mostly what I want to say here is thank you to all of the artists who let me show their work, to all the writers who let me print their words, and to everyone who has supported Fraction Magazine. Your time and your energy is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

David Bram
Editor in Chief
