Issue 72 - March 2015

From the Editor:

Can you feel it?  Spring is in the air.  No really, it is.

And every spring, Fraction introduces new work and gets ready for the Anniversary issue in May.  The call for work will happen shortly.

This issue features two young, budding photographers whose work I am proud to introduce to the Fraction audience. Chandler Sowden's On the Verge deals with youth, college and what happens next. Rachael Banks' Between Home and Here examines memories and the idea of "home".

Pascal Amoyel survey's the landscape of his home country of France.  The resulting photographs are lush and honest.  Some of my favorite photographs of this year.

This issue also includes a book review and a show review. First, Leo Hsu digs deep into Edmund Clark's latest book The Mountains of Majeed. Then David Ondrik spent some time with the art of Richard Mosse in Portland.

Also this month, we are very pleased to announce our guest curator, Jessie Wender, who has created a terrific show called Women on Women.

With Gratitude,

David Bram
Editor-in-Chief

In June 2014, the Fraction Magazine website was redesigned and transferred to Squarespace. I had resisted making a change for years because of the huge volume of content on the site, but Squarespace’s clean, intuitive and customizable templates won me over. I am thrilled with the new site and even more excited to announce an affiliate relationship with Squarespace.

If you are interested in trying out Squarespace for your website, use this link to sign up (you will have a 10-day free trial) and “fractionmag10” at checkout to receive at 10% discount.
