Issue 94 - January 2017

From the Assistant Editor:

They said we couldn't do it, but we proved them all wrong!

Holy smokes. We made it to 2017.

While I am tempted to make a public grocery list of all of the things that got me down in 2016, I'd rather take a moment to express my gratitude. I am so grateful for so many things, not least of which is the opportunity to work at Fraction. Fraction provides opportunities to connect with so many bright, thoughtful, creative, interesting people, and these exchanges of energy are really what fuel this whole beast. So thank you for your interest and your support of the artists that we feature in the magazine, the shop, and the forthcoming imprint. I'd also like to give a big internet shout-out (I also made a local radio one on 101 Gold, but I'm afraid most of you won't get to hear it) to the Fraction Crew – David! Leo! Lauren! Thank you for all of the things.

We are kicking off the new year with a great set of portfolios from Jasmine Clark, Marna Clarke, Nicola Dracoulis, and Cornelia Hediger. Lauren Greenwald shares her thoughts on The Billboard Creative's 2016 Los Angeles Project. Enjoy!

I hope 2017 is a great year for each of you. Thanks for making photographs and for keeping things interesting. Keep up the good work and let's continue to collaborate and cheer each other on in the new year.

Best,

Bree Lamb
Assistant Editor
