Issue 137 – August 2020

From the Managing Editor:

I want to thank Aziza Murray for her thoughtful curation of last month’s issue. We are very excited for the opportunity to continue to share our platform with guest curators for upcoming issues of Fraction.

Issue 137 features a wide range of work from the very talented Michael Behlen, Apolo Gomez, Amy Herman and Lali Khalid. We hope you enjoy their thought-provoking portfolios. Our featured book this month is African Cosmologies: Photography, Time and the Other which was co-edited by Mark Sealy MBE and Steven Evans in conjunction with Fotofest 2020 and published by our friends at Schilt Publishing. Charcoal Book Club’s book for August is Wonderland by Jason Eskenazi. We are also sharing Kraszna-Krausz Foundation’s 2020 Photography Book Awards, so check out their selections for this year’s awards.

We greatly appreciate your support of our Print Sale Fundraiser – thank you! 50% of the proceeds from sales go directly to the artist and 50% go to our selected non-profit organization. Proceeds from this month’s sales support The Okra Project, “a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.” Please check out the beautiful work we have for sale and consider adding to your collection and supporting hard-working artists and organizations. As always, thanks for your support and please keep in touch.

With gratitude,

Bree Lamb
